The Blues Brothers

Arizona’s first rage room Simply Smashing, “Rage Release Room” was created by Stephen Wilk in November of 2016 near his alma mater, Arizona State University in Tempe. The maroon & gold is portrayed in the company colors.

Our founder, Stephen Wilk, was inspired by the classic comedy “Blues Brothers”, starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. Driving their huge 1974 Dodge Monaco through a shopping mall and destroying the glass walls, dishes, crystal and everything in sight. He thought how lucky actors are to act out what many people would love to do.

Also recalling the benefits, he received striking a couch cushion with a foam bat in his 20’s to expel anger and frustration. Thus, the concept of recreational and therapeutic destruction was born. “

What is a Safe Place?

Safe Place is a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people under the age of 18 (up to 21 years of age in some communities) in need of immediate help and safety. As a collaborative community prevention initiative, Safe Place designates businesses and organizations as Safe Place locations, making help readily available to youth in communities across the country.
